 Cox Technic

What is the Cox Technic?

Cox Decompression Adjusting & Manipulation is the well documented, researched, proven effective, non-surgical technique for treating low back, mid back and neck pain. This technique is a gentle, non-force procedure that works with the body’s natural design to aid it in healing properly. The Cox procedures encourage a pain free future by educating the patient about ergonomics, strengthening exercise, and lifestyle modification.

During a treatment on this instrument, you will lie on your stomach while Dr. Taylor gently manipulates your spine to relieve nerve pressure. She may use the instrument’s lower section to allow gentle, rhythmic up and down, side-to-side, and/or circular motions that restore normal motion to the spine to reduce pain.

Patients, even those who are in excruciating pain, are quite pleasantly surprised to discover that they are able to tolerate this technique quite comfortably. Many patients, who have already been scheduled for low back surgery, have come to see Dr. Taylor as a last resort. In most of those cases, the need for surgery has been eliminated due to the improvement of their condition.

Dr. Taylor is one of the only fully certified doctors in this specialized technique in the Hudson Valley.

Benefits of Cox Decompression Adjustment and Manipulation

The Cox Decompression Adjustment and Manipulation creates a "push, pull, pumping" effect on the disc space between two spinal bones (vertebra). It allows for the following benefits:

  1. Increases the disc height to remove tension on the disc fibers and spinal nerves by making more room and improving circulation
  2. Decreases the pressure inside the disc between vertebra
  3. Restores spinal joints to their normal physiological relationships of motion (realigns your spine).

Activator Methods Chiropractic Technique

Activator Technique

Activator Methods Technique is a gentle, low-force program of chiropractic care. It has been safely used for over 35 years to benefit people with a wide range of health problems-without drugs or surgery.

To address spinal joint dysfunction, we use an instrument called the Activator. This unique hand-held instrument was scientifically designed to give you a very specific, "low-force" adjustment.

The Activator Technique incorporates the latest advances in orthopedic, neurological, and chiropractic examinations along with the unique system of administering spinal adjustments.

This method is also one of the most scientifically researched techniques in chiropractic.

What makes the Activator Methods Chiropractic Technique different?

The Activator instrument delivers a controlled, light, and fast thrust, without causing undue strain to patients. Activator adjustments are so quick and controlled, your body’s muscles are less likely to resist, allowing for a more precise and exact adjustment. One of the unique features of the Activator Technique is that we can zero in on the exact area of the body that is causing your health problems.
